Peanut butter lovers unite!!!
Did you know that over 79% of households indulge in peanut butter weekly? My house use to be right up there with the peanut butter indulgence. We would fly through a jar of Kraft Peanut Butter weekly. Sometimes two.
My 6 year old son was a peanut butter sandwich fiend. He would eat 3 to 5 peanut butter sandwiches a day if I would have let him. Notice I said *was*.
We had an incident in the Summer while we were away at the cottage. My 8 year old daughter had a very severe reaction while indulging in her favourite peanut butter treat, so for the time being while we wait for her appointment with the immunologist we have had to cut the creamy, deliciousness that is peanut butter out of our lives.
It hasn’t been an easy transition for this peanut butter loving family, but it has been necessary. That’s not to say I don’t daydream of indulging in apple slices or banana pancakes coated in peanut butter, eating peanut butter off the spoon (because why the heck not?!?), and treating the kids to their old favourite after-school treat… Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies. Because I do. Often!
Peanut butter is such a versatile treat that many people go nuts for! Just like I go nuts for this recipe! A yummy treat that is oh-so-satisfying!
