Places to go, people to see and shows to watch. With the kids around all summer long, finding a moment of solace can seem impossible, don’t you think? Only it doesn’t have to be impossible. You just need to get creative with how you carve out “me time”.

With the Summer almost halfway through you can bet I have had to get sneaky with how I carve out time for myself, which isn’t always easy in a home with four young children.

Carving out time for myself was so much easier in the days prior to motherhood. A time when I didn’t need to take into account the needs of other prior to unwinding on the couch. These days unwinding on the couch is an invitation a child to use me as their personal jungle gym, while I dodge around them trying to catch a glimpse of their show while I count down the minutes until bedtime.

A routine that usually doesn’t begin until 8, sometimes even 9. By the time lights out rolls around, I am far too tired to dive into my favourite shows.

Rather I carve out time for myself each day to workout, and it is during that time that I will sneak in some of my favourite Netflix shows. My children know that when I work out that it is quiet time. A time when they leave Mommy alone and play quietly in their rooms or read a book. AND – Seriously, nothing beats being able to decompress with a 30 minute sweat session while tuning into an episode of Friends from College on Netflix.

According to Netflix, I am not the only one who has the #MomSneak down pat. 95% of moms say that they had more time for themselves before motherhood, and now, over half (58%) admit to sneaking in TV “me-time” while juggling a busy schedule, with some even hiding from their kids for just a moment of peace. It seems more and more moms these days are doing it anywhere and everywhere when the kids aren’t around. Sneaking is the new bingeing after all.

Where do you like to #MomSneak?
