Do you ever have those moments where you just sit in front of the computer and just lose yourself in watching the cursor blink in a new blank document? That would have been me for the past 45 minutes. Writers block, anyone?

Thankfully, I had Orange Naturals Focus on hand. I took 1mL under the tongue, and I’m feeling a lot more calm and alert.

This month has been a busy one. May has been a month of celebrating all things Mom. Between Mother’s Day and my best friends baby shower, I have been quite busy.

Being a mom is hard-work and a constant balancing act. Time, work, play, meals, love, hugs, smiles, laughter, tears, ups and downs – we balance it all! All though sometimes we may feel like we barely have a grip on the balancing act, we try. That’s the least we can do!

Over the past 4 weeks, I have been focusing a lot more on my well-being and health. I had been in a bit of a funk and feeling down on myself for a while there. I could feel myself slipping, and I knew my family was noticing too. I knew I had to start making changes. Changes that I had tried to take numerous times before, but failed miserably at. This time I had made a pact with myself to stick with my plan for 22 days. After all – they say it takes 22 days to create a routine and stick with it.

My personal health goals involved….

  • Starting each morning with a healthy breakfast packed full of essentials nutrients, lean proteins and fiber.
  • Drinking a Women’s ND Shake each morning for a snack.
  • Walking 10,000 steps a day.
  • Exercising for a minimum of 30 minutes 5-6x a week (min. 2 days cardio, 3 days strength/resistance/HIIT)
  • Cutting back my intakes of gluten and dairy products.
  • Consuming more fruits and vegetables.
  • Sleepingmore.
  • Drinking more water.
  • Consuming less caffeine and alcohol.

It has only been 4 weeks, but I’m starting to notice changes. I am feeling stronger, happier and healthier. I have more energy. I have found myself getting outside a lot more with the kids, soaking up the beautiful weather, playing and just having so much fun. I’m more involved, more focused. I’m me. I finally feel like I am a point where I am in my element. I feel happier than I have been in a long time, and it’s just so great.

This evening, as I was sitting on the sidewalk with my older daughter colouring with chalk, a woman that I commonly saw at the school bus stop last year approached me to say that she has noticed I have lost a lot of weight and wanted to know my “secret”. She was shocked to learn of my approach and that it hasn’t just been the results of some fad diet. I have to say it was quite motivating to have an outsider looking in take notice of the changes. It gave me that little nudge to keep on, keeping on.

And that I will!
