Berry Cherry Smoothie (1 of 1)

Mornings around my home tend to be quite chaotic. So often it is easy to want to flock to the drive through to grab my morning coffee, smoothie and muffin. However, it isn’t always the best option for my wallet or waistline.

For this reason on busy mornings, I tend to find myself preparing smoothies that are high in protein and fiber. My favourite way to add protein to a smoothie is using Nordica Cottage Cheese.

Nordica Cottage Cheese goes with all of your favourites, from fruit to pasta. It is low in fat and has many healthy benefits, including calcium, Vitamin D and protein.

One would never think it would taste great in a smoothie, but oh boy does it ever! If you haven’t tried a smoothie infused with cottage cheese, you must! The outcome is like a delicious liquefied cheesecake in a glass.

Berry Cherry Smoothie

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 small container of vanilla yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Nordica Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Pitted Sweet Dark Cherries
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 banana
  • 250 ml of your favourite milk beverage (I use original almond milk or 2%)
  • a drizzle of agave or honey OR a pitted prune (for added sweetness) (optional)


  1. Add all ingredients to your blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Serve immediately.

Nordi-Cows is Back!

Nordi-Cows is an interactive game on Gay Lea’s Facebook page. To participate, visit the Gay Lea Facebook page to pick your favourite cow, and milk her twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening. The more you milk your cow, the more chances there are to win great weekly prizes. The contest runs from the end May through June.
