In this past year, I have done and accomplished a lot of things. However, the one thing I have majorly slacked on was making myself a priority. For no real rhyme or reason other than the fact that I have been busy. Being a Mom to 3 young children can do that to you.
Throughout 2014, I stopped routinely exercising. I began eating more junk food. My healthy, balanced diet went straight out the door. I gradually started to become more stressed as each day passed. I struggled with finding balance. As days went on it became noticeable that these changes were beginning to impact my health and not in a good way.
Enough was enough. It was time to put my foot down and make some changes. Changes that would not only be better for me, but also for my family.
I turned 31 earlier this month.
For my 31st birthday, I made a pact with myself. This was going to be my year. The year that I focus a lot more on myself. On my well-being. There is only one of me in life after all.
I started by making simple changes…
I’ve started going to bed earlier. I aim to get at minimum 7 hours of sleep a night.
I start each morning with a well-balanced breakfast and an Orange Naturals ND Shake.
I’m fitting in time for exercise each day. I aim for a minimum 30 minutes of exercise daily, 6 times a week. My husband bought me a FitBit Charge HR for my birthday, and the daily stats have been a great way for me to track my accomplishments and stay accountable. I also find it challenges me to compete with myself. It’s the motivation I have needed to remain active.
I purged my wardrobe. It was hard to do, but necessary. Goodbye too small and/or frumpy old clothing. I
will won’t miss you!
I started taking Orange Naturals D3 drops, B Complex and a Prenatal Multivitamin daily.
I am spending more time playing with my kids. Impromptu dance parties, anyone?
I’m finding more time to do what I love most. Getting outside and exploring the great outdoors with the family. Nothing brings me more serenity than enjoying nature.
I have also started taking Stress + Calm and Digestion. These homeopathic tinctures have come in really handy whenever my nerves get the best of me. You just take a couple mL of each under the tongue and you are golden. You just have to get past the taste, which really isn’t even that bad. Between you and I, I like to add my tinctures to my smoothies. It helps mask them. My body still reaps all of the amazing benefits and then some.
I have noticed many improvements since I have made all of these simple changes. I have a lot more energy, and I’m so much happier.
What do you do each day to ensure that you make your well-being a priority?
