Shortly before the birth of my daughter in March, I was introduced to a fitness trainer, Tracey Mallett. I quickly fell in love with her company, The Booty Barre, and couldn’t wait to be in the place where I could give The Booty Barre Beginners & Beyond DVD a whirl.

Suffice to say I got a little a head of myself and very eager to bounce back into a regular fitness routine postpartum. Upon reaching out to Tracey Mallett to discuss facilitating a review, she quickly gave my head a little shake and reminded me to take it slowly when easing back into a fitness routine post-baby.

Tracey sent me a few DVDs from her prenatal and postpartum collection to get me well on my way of getting back into shape. I started using the DVDs at 6 weeks postpartum after receiving the go ahead from my midwife. However, my body was very quick to give me signs that I needed to continue resting for a little while longer.

Once my postpartum bleeding finally diminished, I knew I was at a point where I could ease back into establishing a regular workout routine. What I didn’t anticipate was how hard it would be to establish a solid workout routine with a young infant. It’s hard. Whenever I have the free time I feel like I should be napping, showering, preparing meals, eating a meal or cleaning the house. Where does exercising fit into the day-to- day schedule?

I am very quickly coming to realize that squeezing in even 10 to 20 minutes a day for self-care is crucial to my well-being. This is why I love Tracey Mallett’s Lose the Belly Flab and Get Your Body Back exercise programs.


Lose the Belly Flab is a exercise program that is perfect for Moms of all ages. The program features precise, sculpting abdominal and butt exercises designed to work deep into the core and lift the rear. This program burns fat and blasts calories all while helping you rid of the dreaded muffin top and works to flatten the belly. The DVD has a run time of 61 minutes, but it is broken into different phases. Each phase averaging a 10 minute run time. If you are short on time, you can easily pick a phase and complete that segment. Breaking up your workout over the day.


Get Your Body Back is designed to blast away the baby fat with specially designed cardio interval exercises that tone and tighten the whole body. This exercise program helps you build muscle, burn fat and boost your sluggish post-baby metabolism. This is by far my favourite postpatum exercise program. Tracey has such a fun spirit and leaves you smiling throughout the whole workout. This program features different phases; each phase offers a different intensity. The phases are broken down into three circuits. Each circuit runs for approximately 7 minutes each. Great for Moms who may not be able to dedicate 30 minutes at a time to sneak in a workout. Get You Body Back is by far my favourite postpartum exercise program!
