Mother’s Day has come and gone, and I have been so wrapped up in snuggling my 2 month old that I haven’t shared with you how the special day was celebrated.

The Friday before Mother’s Day I received a phone call from my daughter’s school asking me to come pick her up. She was vomitting.

Perfect, I thought. Just what I need to be dealing with over the Mother’s Day weekend.

Upon bringing her home, I got her nestled in her room, gave her a dose of Orange Naturals Digestive Tincture and off to sleep she went. While she slept I furiously scrubbed the house top to bottom. I was determined that none of my other family members were going to catch whatever bug she had. Strangely enough though, when my daughter woke 2.5 hours later she was hyper as all heck and back to her old self. In fact-  if I would have let her she would have ate us out of the house. Who knows what it was that was ailing her stomach that day? BUT –  thank goodness it was short-lived!

The Mother’s Day weekend shaped up to be a gorgeous one. The weather was perfect, and I got to spend the majority of it in the company of the ones I love most. My family.

On Mother’s Day, my husband had arranged for me to spend the day at the spa. I pumped a couple bottles of expressed breast milk, and away I went to get pampered. I was spoiled with a relaxation massage, manicure, pedicure, and wash and style. My day of “me” was every bit of wonderful. Although, I do have to admit that I really missed my littlest bambina.

As much as I missed her, I realized the importance of taking time away for me. Mom’s spend so much time putting their families first that they forget to take care of the ones who matter most… themselves. After all there is only one of them in life.

This whole month I have made it a goal to enjoy a little bit of me time each day. Whether it be through a brief postpartum workout, a quiet evening walk to and from the mailbox, or enjoying a bubble bath with a warm cup of Orange Naturals Chocolate ND Shake. Just taking that wee bit of me time to enjoy each day is quite refreshing. It is a good way to clear my head after a tiresome, long day of running around after my youngsters and taking care of them.

For me it is important to take care of my well-being, I have been blessed with a gorgeous family, and I couldn’t imagine not being there for them in good spirits and health. I will always love them to the moon and back, and cherish all our fond memories.
