Meals in minutes are certainly ones that interest me as of late. Let’s face it – with a newborn now in the picture I just don’t have the time to commit to spending endless hours in the kitchen preparing a gourmet meal. BUT – that’s OK!
Prior to the wee bundles delivery, I spent a lot of time bookmarking many quick and easy, one pot meal ideas. Meals that would save us from constantly opting for takeout. Takeout while it would be the more convenient option, just isn’t budget friendly. The one pot meal recipes that I have set aside take literally no time at all to whip up, and ensures dinner can be on the table in 30 minutes or less each night.
One dish my family and I recently tried was the Saucy Beef Noodle Skillet that is featured over on Kraft Canada’s What’s Cooking website. This dish is easy to prepare and quite versatile. You could easily sub in chicken for the ground beef, add variation spices, and/or switch out the dressing for another household favourite. Either way – this easy, no-fuss meal idea is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser!
Saucy Beef Noodle Skillet
- 1lb Ground Beef
- 1 Green Pepper, diced
- 1/2 sweet onion, diced
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 cup Kraft Tuscan Italian Dressing
- 2 pkgs (3oz/85g each) ramen noodle soup mix, beef flavour
- 1/2 cup of shredded Kraft Mozzarella cheese
- Brown the beef with green pepper, onion, and minced garlic. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add in spices, diced tomatoes, water, dressing and ramen noodles.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with cheese
Alternatively you could prepare this dish using ground turkey, 19oz can of diced tomatoes, 1/4 cup raspberry vinaigrette and 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette.
If you like recipes like the one shared above, then you must also check out Tex-Mex Taco Pasta Skillet. This dish goes down as a family favourite and is a staple (especially during the cooler months)!
