‘Tis the season! You know the one that finds that malls inundated with holiday shoppers trying to find that perfect gift for that special someone in their life.

My children’s wishlists this year have a heck of a lot of Hasbro products on it. Big Hugs Elmo and Furby Boom just to name a few! It’s safe to say that Hasbro has become a household name around these ranks over the years! I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy browsing their toy guide and coveting many of the products. For this reason I’m going to share with you what I think will be some of Hasbro’s Hottest Toys this holiday season.

Who remembers the game Barrels of Monkey’s? Next to solitaire, Barrel of Monkey’s was one of my favourite ways to pass time during my adolescence.

So when I came across the Elefun & Friends Chasin’ Cheeky Game my heart immediately sang out!

Chasin’ Cheeky reminds me so much of the monkey’s from Barrels of Monkey’s. The difference being that Chasin’ Cheeky is a tease and loves to have you chase him around as you try to toss rings on to his booty-shakin’ tail!

My son loves to dance around the room, shaking and dancing along with Cheeky. While my daughter loves to just pick Cheeky up off  the floor and place the rings one by one on the tail. She is at the age where she challenges everything, so she cannot comprehend why you would make life harder by chasing Cheeky around, trying to toss rings on his tail.

Chasin’ Cheeky is a great way to have your children burn off a little extra energy. It gets them up, moving and blowing off all that extra steam!

Speaking of being active…

Some of my adventures with my children this past Summer found us touring many local parks. While my children loved playing on the equipment at each park we would visit, they also loved to use their imagination and make-up new games that wouldn’t necessarily require the use of the park equipment. Quite often they would be found playing beneath the park equipment pretending they worked in an ice cream shop.

What child doesn’t love ice cream?!?

So for that reason I thought that the Play-Doh Perfect Twist Ice Cream Playset would make the perfect holiday gift this Winter.

Play-Doh Perfect Twist Ice Cream

“Your little ones will create the swirliest, most realistic-looking soft serve “ice cream” ever with the Perfect Twist Ice Cream playset! Help them fill the cones and dishes with fluffy fantasy ice cream swirls made of Play-Doh modeling compound. Then they can use the softer, smoother Play-Doh Plus compound to crank out some colorful pretend sprinkles and top it all off!”

My children could play with the Perfect Twist Ice Cream Playset for hours on end. It’s a great way for them to bring their “ice cream shop” indoors during the cooler months.

While I may not enjoy the mess that comes with Play-Doh, I do enjoy the smiles of my children! This toy does just that it brings out the smiles.

Did I mention it is also a PTPA award winner?!

Speaking of PTPA award winners… Another hot Playskool toy this season is the Playskool Showcam 2-in-1 Digital Camera and Projector!

“Give your kids a way to add fun animations, stories and sounds to the pictures they take with the Showcam Digital Camera and Projector! With more than 50 silly effects to choose from, this 2-in-1 camera and projector lets them snap pics and customize them! With the flip of a switch they can project their pictures too. The buttons, controls and grips are all kid-sized for easy use, and the editing functions are built in so they don’t need software. It’s easy to save, print and email pictures if you have a USB cable! Get your little ones creating digitally with the Showcam Digital Camera and Projector!”

The Show Cam 2-in-1 Digital Camera and Projector is perfect for children between the ages of 3 and 7.

My daughter loves bringing the Show Cam along to all of our family functions. I have always been one for snapping lots of photos, and it is nice to see my daughter sharing that love to. However – what I didn’t enjoy was finding 100’s of random selfies and miscellaneous photos on my iPhone prior to the Show Cam being welcomed into our home. Now that my children have their own camera, their need to play around on my iPhone has dwindled. A win, win.

If you do purchase your child a Show Cam this holiday season, be sure to have 4 ‘AA’ batteries on hand. My husband had to learn the hard way that you cannot just plug the Show Cam into a USB port to charge. The USB port is a great way to download the images from the camera, but it also doesn’t second as a way to juice up the camera. This would be the only flaw I have found with the camera.

Otherwise — it is safe to say the Show Cam has found love in our home and I can see why many children will be asking Santa for this cool toy! Between being able to seamlessly snap photos, animate photos and also project them on to a wall with the flick of a switch… what’s not to love?!

This leads me the next Hasbro toy on my covet list this holiday season…. The Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven (Purple).

Easy Bake Oven

“The special edition color of this Ultimate Oven commemorates the 50th anniversary of Easy-Bake cooking fun! You’ll whip up amazing goodies with this Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven. Make 12 chocolate chip cookie bites with the delicious mix included and serve them to your friends! Just mix it, bake it and enjoy it with your amazing Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven!”

Many moons ago, I had an Easy Bake Oven. I have so many fond memories of baking chocolate chip cookies and small cakes in that oven with my Mom. The Easy Bake Oven is perfect for sneaking in some extra bonding time with your little ones.

My 4-year old has had me tuck her Easy Bake Oven away until she is on Christmas break. She wants the first use to be to whip up a batch of cookies for Santa.

The suggested age for the Easy Bake Oven is 8 years and up.

Have you checked out Hasbro’s product line-up lately? What’s on your child’s wish list this holiday season?
