Last weekend my husband and I ventured out on a lunch date. Big deal, right?!? It may not seem like a big deal to most, but to us it was! See… we don’t get to head out on “dates” often. Our family all lives over an hour West of the boondocks (as I like to call them). So when that rare opportunity pops up for us to go out on a date we snatch it up quickly and savor every moment of time sans the munchkins.

This past weekend found us enjoying a delicious lunch at Milestones followed by coffee at a local coffee shop. It was such a treat to be able to enjoy an adult conversation without interruption. I even had the chance to bring up a topic I have been dreading chatting with the hubster about. Yep – I finally had the nerve to slyly mention that I think we need to purchase a different vehicle before our third child is born in March.

My husband has been very set on not purchasing a different vehicle this time around. I can’t say I blame him. We did pay off the balance on both of our vehicles when we moved into our new build in August of 2012, so the idea of possible having a car payment again is less than ideal. However, the fact of the matter is that both of our cars are far too small for a family of 5 plus a dog. Yes, we realistically could get by on purchasing smaller car seats and cramming them all in the back of my SUV. But – do I really want to put my sanity on the line? We all know seating my 4 year old and 2 year old beside each other will lead to many slapping and screaming arguments. I can just picture it now. Shudder.

Not only that – what about family road trips and staycations? There is no way we could get by on a family trip to the cottage with just one vehicle that has 3 car seats and a dog. Where would the luggage go? We would have to camp out with just the clothing on our backs and call it a week. While I am a gal who loves the great outdoors – there are some luxuries that must accompany me on these trips!

So after much thought I had to bring all these concerns up to my husband. I plead my case and you know what he listened. He is open to the idea of shopping for a new or used vehiclePhew! Does it mean we will buy one in the end? No. But at least he is now open to the idea!

So where do we start…

My Dad has worked in the automotive industry for my whole life. I also have previous experience of working within a car dealership. That being said… I am very particular of where I shop for new or used vehicles. I won’t just go anywhere. Customer service is very important to me. Finding a dealership where they aren’t out to make a quick sale, and are willing to talk my husband and I through the process is also important. I know all about the tactics some of those sales guys use and honestly I am not out to play games! I don’t think anyone who is in the market for a vehicle is.

This is where Mills Motors comes into the picture.

Mills Motors has just launched their brand-new 5-star Mega Lot. The official grand opening is scheduled for December 7, 2013 on their lot and it looks like it’s going to be one exciting event! The Mills 5 Star Mega Lot has one of Durham Region’s LARGEST pre-owned inventories; they stock more vehicles every day and now carry roughly 150 vehicles in stock. Not to mention that they are always happy to source vehicles for you if you’re looking for a specific make, model or year that may not be in their inventory.

Mills Motors is happy to look at your vehicle and appraise it for you on site, and they offer great value for trades. This is something that my husband loves to hear! There is nothing that bothers him more than when a dealer undervalues the trade-in vehicle. Something like that would be a deal breaker for him. Like I said, we are not the type of couple who like to play games when we are in the market for a car!

Did I mention that Mills also has a great incentive happening right now? If you purchase a vehicle between November 4th and December 6th (vehicle deal must be complete) you will be entered to win a $10,000 cash giveaway! The winner will be announced at the grand opening event on December 7 between 2 and 4PM. Who doesn’t want to win a little extra cash to donate, pay off some debt or have a little extra spending money?!

After much research, I can say as a potential customer of Mills Motors that I would feel confident and assured that I would be met with quality, professionalism and welcoming customer service. Purchasing a vehicle is not a decision that can be taken lightly, and Mills Motors understands that!

In celebration of their upcoming grand opening of the 5-Star Mega Lot Mills Motors is giving away a $200 Visa Gift Card. To enter simply complete the Rafflecopter form below.

My first car was the most adorable little lime green 1973 Toyota Corolla named Molly. I was born in 1976, so she was older than me! It was my grandmother’s car, but she never drove it so she passed it on to my mom who passed it on to me when I started driving. I loved that car!!
