5 years ago I took the plunge into the world of blogging. At the time my blogging adventure was quite personal. I used my blog as a way to document my life. It was kind of like my online diary. My blog was quite secure. By secure I mean that I had my blog completely locked down from the public eye. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to broadcast my life with the world.
Shortly after the birth of my daughter in 2009, I took on ownership of momstown Whitby-Ajax. momstown Whitby-Ajax was an active, engaged & authentic online media and event planning company with a dynamic & targeted local network. Upon starting this business I had to invest a lot of money into creating awesome marketing materials. Materials that could easily be used at networking events or handed out at business meetings. Business start-up costs can be quite steep, so I was always looking for ways as a new business owner to save a buck or two whenever I could.
Believe it or not – I turned to Vistaprint for a lot of my marketing materials and signage. Vistaprint sells a lot of products that are great for personal or business purposes. Whether you need invitations, calendars, business cards, address labels, t-shirts, banners or postcards; Vistaprint has you covered. They offer low prices that seriously can’t be beat.
are also frequently issued to consumers who subscribe to their mailing list.
In September of 2011, I resigned from my role as Director & Community Manager of momstown Whitby-Ajax. It was a position that I truly enjoyed. However, I was ready to take my blog to a whole new level. I was ready to branch out in the social media world, relish and savor it. Shortly after leaving my role at momstown I really began focusing on the business side of blogging. It was certainly all new to me. It was a great learning curve. One that has helped me flourish on a personal and professional level. I have had the opportunity to attend many fabulous social media conferences
, and network with many amazing individuals. To this day I always make sure that I have a stock pile of marketing materials on hand, whether it be media kit postcards or business cards. You just never know when they might come in handy!
The past 5 years has been quite the adventure, and I’m so pleased with the path I have ventured down. I can’t wait to see where my journey in the social media world goes from here. Upward and onward, I say!
