I always look forward to long weekends in the Summer. Quite often it means lots of food and drinks will be enjoyed in the company of friends or at the cottage. Nothing beats a meal that can be cooked over the camp fire or on a barbecue.

If you are looking for some new dishes to try out over the weekend, I have some great suggestions for you.

Don’t these Canada Day Sugar Cookies from Multi-Testing Mommy look almost too cute to eat!

What a fun way to spend quality time in the kitchen with your little one’s as you celebrate all things Canada.

I have had a huge hankering for ribs lately. Be Nice or Leave, Thanks. has a wonderful recipe for BBQ Beef Ribs.

Another great BBQ recipe to try this weekend is Crystal’s Homemade Burgers. These burgers are thick, juicy and chucked full of flavour.

For the last 10 months we have gone without a barbecue as we have waited for our property to be graded. Our property was finally graded a few weeks ago. We have since gone out and purchased a brand spakin’ new barbecue. I can’t wait to put it together and try out some of these great recipes!

What’s on your menu for the long weekend?
