Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday, May the 12th, and I can’t imagine a better way to spend it then in the company of the ones that you love most… family!

Celebrate Mom my grabbing a bowl of popcorn, and snuggling in for a movie fest with her. Netflix has a great collection of family and mom-themed titles. Some of my favourites being:

Monster-in-law: Unlucky in love, beautiful Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Cantilini (Jennifer Lopez) has finally met the man of her dreams, Dr. Kevin Fields (Michael Vartan). There’s just one problem – his mother! Overbearing and controlling, not to mention volatile, Viola Fields (Jane Fonda) has recently been canned from her job as a star news anchor. Fearing she will lose her son’s affections as she has her career, Viola decides to break up the happy couple by becoming the world’s worst mother-in-law. Helping her with her crazy schemes is Viola’s long-time assistant, Ruby (Wanda Sykes). The gloves come off when Charlie finally decides to fight back and it looks like Viola has finally met her match.

Baby Mama: A successful, single businesswoman who dreams of having a baby discovers she is infertile and hires a working class woman to be her unlikely surrogate.

AND…

Step Mom: A terminally-ill mother has to settle on the new woman in her ex-husband’s life, who will be their new stepmother.

Other family and mom-themed classics that you can find on Netflix, include:

· Erin Brockovich
· Georgie Rule
· Motherhood
· Mother’s Day
· Little Women
· Soccer Mom
· Mr. Mom
· Chocolat
· Riding in Cars with Boys
· Beautiful Lies
· Peace, Love & Misunderstanding

What are some of your favourite family friendly, mom-themed movies?

I like Stepmom but it is sad. Also love the Blindside. Actually Brave has a good message about moms and parenting as well.

Two of the movies you mentioned I have seen and enjoyed. I recently saw Step Mom on television and thought it was a sad but touching movie. I thought Monster In Law was a good comedy.
