It’s that time of year again! The time of year where parents start making plans of how they plan to keep their children occupied during the Summer. A common choice is summer camp.
While I have never attended a summer camp. I do have fond childhood memories of attending overnight camps with Girl Guides, and summer day camps held through the city recreation department. These camps helped me gain independence. Many new friendships formed. My appreciation of the great outdoors, a love for wildlife and learning about our beautiful environment blossomed.
I have one memory for overnight camp that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. My cabin mates and I set in for the night after a great night around the bonfire. You know how young girls can be. We were on a high, so full of life and giggles. We just lied in our bunks for hours belting out the lyrics to Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows. My experiences at camp were always grand!
I look forward to the day that my little munchkins are old enough to be registered in Summer camp. We have many great camps in this great province of mine. A popular one being – Muskoka Woods.
