Why hello there?!? Welcome to the newly revamped website for Domesticated Momma!!! I hope you love the changes and new design as much as I do.

In July, Domesticated Momma celebrated it’s 4 year blogiversary. It’s been quite the 4 years. A lot has changed. I launched Domesticated Momma back in July of 2008. Domesticated Momma has grown with me over the years. As I’ve flourished,  it has flourished. Times changed. I changed. It only made sense that Domesticated Momma followed suit.

When I initially began considering going through with a blog revamp, I thought about starting with a fresh slate, moving over to WordPress, and even changing the name of the blog. My lovely designer, Jodi from Rants Designs (Rants ‘n’ Rascals), talked me down. What a wise little cookie she is. For her insights, I’m forever grateful.

I wanted my blog to showcase my love affair with fitness, joyous (and not-so joyous) experiences in motherhood and fun (albeit chaotic) times in the kitchen. So really… why couldn’t all of those topics just remain under this one name?! Domesticated Momma opens up the diversity of this lifestyle blog and that’s why I love it. The last thing I wanted to do was throw you  – my dedicated readers – for a loop.

You’ll also find I decided against switching over to WordPress. Jodi (my designer) helped me work through the pros and cons of this decision. Initially, I wanted to make the move to WordPress because I thought it’d make my life easier. I had this irrational fear that one day I could log in to my blogging platform and *poof* everything would be gone. What I didn’t know about WordPress is that learning the back end and making the switch over could essentially be a chaotic nightmare. I’d lose my analytics and the back end wouldn’t offer the current cushy security that I already have with Blogger. Those reasonings alone were enough to sway me into sticking around with my current platform.

Jodi from Rants Designs (Rants ‘n’ Rascals) really impressed me with how dedicated and passionate she is about her line of work. Design is her strong suit. I really appreciated her patience with me during the design process. She was always happy to answer all of my questions and provide me guidance in my times of confusion. She worked tirelessly to get this new design perfected, up and running. I’m truly amazed with her quality of work and would certainly not hesitate to recommend Rants Designs to anyone considering web or blog design in the future. She’s a true rock star!!!
