Well… well… well… If it isn’t Nicole (…er.. Me!) showing my face around the blogosphere. I promise you that I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m not neglecting you at all. In fact, I’m really missing you. My blog. My readers.
We arrived home from our vacation in Cancun late night March 29. What a flight that was. Seriously. However the flight home is a whole other story in and of itself. Remember how I was worried about being “those parents”? Yea well…
Our trip was fantastic. Everything we would have dreamed it would be. For the most part, I guess. The resort was beautiful. The service was phenomenal. The destination was paradise. It was my fifth time visiting Mexico. Clearly, I’m in love!
A few days into our stay my son had a severe allergic reaction to a chemical in his sunscreen. He certainly takes after his Momma, Nana and Uncle. The reaction left him covered in welts and burns. He was clearly uncomfortable and made it known. For the remaining 4 nights of our trip he would only sleep on my chest or snuggled up with his head nestled in my arm while lying in the fetal position. Poor babe. If you think that’s bad… on the last day of our trip my daughter contracted a bacterial infection which left her malaise, puking and lethargic. It was not good!
Upon our return home, I took my son to Urgent Care where the doctors prescribed him Amoxicillan to treat infection from his reaction and he was also diagnosed with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease – in which some blisters were also infected. My daughter caught HFM just days after my son was diagnosed. We knew it was inevitable.
Needless to say, it’s been a rough week around my neck of the woods. I’m tired and just trying to get settled in at home; all the while trying to care for my family. Things are starting to look up now, so keep your eyes glued for the big review posts from my trip.
So yea… that’s where I’ve been. I miss y’all!
