It’s been a couple weeks since I wrote my last Fit & Firm post. It feels kind of bizarre. Almost like I cheated on my blog with Cancun. But hey… how could one seriously turn down paradise? I’d have to have been crazy to pass that up!
The trip overall was amazing. We did encounter a few bumps, but I’m not going to focus or dwell on that. Seriously, the bumps are only what contributed to formulating the many memories that were made! To me that’s worth it.
My husband had a good chuckle at me when we were packing for the trip. I packed 10 bikinis and 4 tankinis. Keep in mind that we were only going on a 7 night, 8 day vacation. So maybe I was a little over zealous. Perhaps a little bikini obsessed. Y’know what though… I once was the girl that insisted she would never, ever touch or wear another bikini again. I bid them adieu after giving birth to my first born. For me to feel comfortable enough to waltz around in a bikini again, feeling totally carefree is huge. I embraced it! Majorly!
A couple months ago I wrote a post inspired by Sammie Kennedy, Creator of Booty Camp Fitness and Femme Fitale. The post was entitled “25 Reasons WHY I Want to Stay Fit“. Some of the reasons seemed to be the obvious. Some more achievable than others. #3 on my list was “I want to rock a bikini on my next vacation (whenever that may be)“. When I wrote this post in November, I had never anticipated crossing it off my list mere months later.
Honestly, if I have anyone to thank for promoting my change in lifestyle and keeping me motivated… it’s Booty Camp. They taught me that anything is achievable if you put your mind and body to it. They gave me the strength to not to give up and fight for it.
No one ever said exercising and getting in shape was going to be easy. It certainly isn’t. Putting forth that extra time for you and focusing on your life is so important. Sure you may not be the best of the best, but the fact that you’re putting forth the effort says a lot and shows determination. With time you will and do get stronger. Just remember pain is weakness leaving the body.
While away on vacation, my water intake remained the same. 2 to 3 liters a day. I’m a water whore. I tried to eat as healthy as possible and always managed to squeeze in a daily workout. The resort was surrounded by a jungle which gave me a lot of opportunities to head out for a hike. I love exploring the outdoors. I also swore by Sammie Kennedy’s Tabata Workout.
Tabata is the perfect workout to do while traveling. You can do it with ease in your hotel room. No excuses.
I was afraid to step on the scale upon arriving home from vacation. Why? I’m not really sure. But – would you believe I actually managed to drop a pound on vacation. Usually for me it’s quite the opposite.
My heart is so very full of happy! I’m loving the girl I’ve become. Change is good.
