Milestones. When you’re a new Mom, it feels like your baby is never going to reach their first milestone. You try so hard to avoid comparing your child with other children around the same age. You do, but don’t admit it. You feel bummed.

And then that day comes….

Your baby rolls over. Hooray! Next your baby sits, crawls and pulls to stand. After those first milestones hit you want for nothing but to slow down time. Too bad we can’t!

Today I had one of those moments. My little guy took his first 6 steps. I tried so hard to contain my excitement as I saw him trying to steady himself, as he slowly took his steps. My insides were squealing with excitement. I may have even shed a few tears. I’m feeling like one proud Momma this evening.

Too bad he hasn’t tried again since.

Oh! How exciting! The “firsts” are so beautiful, every one of them. Ok, maybe not all of them…tantrums stink. I am always telling me children to stop growing. I love exactly where they are. They tell me they can’t unless I start feeding them junk so they can’t grow so fast. Smart little stinkers. Congratulations on your child’s latest milestone!

He hasn’t taken very many steps since, but you know what that’s ok. I’d rather him learn to walk at his own pace. He knows he can do it. I know he can do it. He just needs to grow into the comfort zone. All in time. After all he is only 11 months! 🙂
