More than likely if you live in the Durham Region you know about the famous holiday lights display on Old Scugog Road in Clarington. The light display has been an age old tradition running for over 10 years. It brings out the masses of many families to enjoy the holiday tradition!

Can you believe that this was the first year that my family knew of this? I felt like I was living under a rock when a friend was speaking to me of how she spent her Saturday night driving through Clarington looking at holiday lights.

Sunday night, I bundled up the family. We packed in the car, cranked up the holiday tunes and went for a drive. We were amazed not only by the upscale houses (oh to dream big!), but also the elaborate lighting displays. It was gorgeous and so magical. It definitely brought out the festive mood of the Christmas season!

It’s now a tradition that my family will look forward to each and every December!

If you’re in the area… you should take the drive! It’s so worth it! The lighting display runs until January 1st!

I couldn’t say for sure how many houses there were, but I can attest to there being quite a few blocks with houses partaking.
