Saucy Chicken another one of my Grandmother’s recipes that has been within our family since the 70’s.
This meal has always been one of my Dad’s favorites. I don’t blame him. My 9 month old son devoured it. This meal is delicious.
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast (cubed)
3 cups tomato juice or V-8
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup fat free Italian dressing
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 cup carrots (chopped)
1 cup fresh mushrooms (chopped)
1 cup celery (chopped)
egg noddles (cooked) (I use the whole bag)
Combine and add all ingredients to crock pot with the exception of the egg noddles.Cook on low for 7 hours.
Serve over egg noodles.
The mushrooms, carrots and celery are optional.
Occasionally I will cook the egg noodles in the slow cooker. If you do this, you will need to add water (1/2 to 1 cup) and cook pasta for final 45 minutes.
