Wow – I’m on day 9 of the challenge already?! It feels like I only just started this challenge yesterday.
Today’s topic is “If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?”
I can remember vividly the years when my Mom would sit me down with my school memoirs book, she’d ask me “what do you want to be when you grow up?”. My answers generally flowed in a rotation. Some years I wanted to be a dancer. Other years I wanted to be a teacher, journalist or lawyer. I was quite ambitious from a young age. Rearing to get out there. To get noticed.
What I wanted to be when I was younger and what I have my heart set on now… while they do have their differences; they also have their similarities.
I would love a career in either social media or photography. These are both fields that I’m passionate about.
I developed my love for both when I started planning my wedding back in 2006. That’s the year I started my first blog, and opened up my Facebook account. Hard to believe that was 5, almost 6 years ago. I originally started blogging on a wedding website that I had created to document the wedding. I have those initial blog posts stored away on a CD. I really need to pull it out and see if there is a way to import those articles to this blog. It was an important moment in my life. It deserved to be documented, and I’m glad it was.
I’ve always been a storyteller. I’m very bubbly and energetic when you get to know me. Bursting with ideas. Honestly, I probably should have gone through school for journalism. All my key pieces in school that received the highest grades were essays. I just love to write. I love to connect, share, learn and network. I thrive off meeting new people.
Given my passion for documenting things… It’s only natural that I also have passion for photography. It goes hand in hand.
I would love for more than anything to one day land a career in a social media or photography field. It just wouldn’t feel like work to me. It’d be fun. Something I’d look forward to each and everyday. They’re both evolving industries. No two days are the same. I love that!
