Shortly before the birth of my sweet Oakley, I was introduced to Shauna, the owner of Love Simply Made; a local small business that sells high-quality, hand-made, natural self-care products at affordable prices.

I was so excited when I learned about this local small business because they sell many bath and body self-care products for not only new Mom’s, but also baby. These products contain all natural, simple ingredients. That’s right – they don’t include the use of any unwanted chemicals. Every Mom’s biggest worry when shopping for  bath and body care products for baby. Eliminated. All of Love Simply Made’s products are free of parabens, SLS and phthalates.

You see… Three years ago, Shauna brought Love Simply Made to conception when she was on a quest to decrease her family’s exposure to added chemicals. Shauna used her background in biotechnology to develop some all-natural products while also launching her small business Love Simply Made.

Shauna should be quite proud of herself because the business she has started is nothing short of amazing! It takes skill and talent to know how to create the products that she does.

Shauna was kind enough to provide me with a complimentary Healing Post Partum Salt Soak, and a Baby Essentials Kit.

The Healing Postpartum Salt Soak was something that I really looked forward to enjoying. The soak is infused with baking soda, Epsom salts, lavender essential oil, dried lavender flowers, dried calendula and dried chamomile. You can use this soak right after birth by adding a 1/4 cup to a sitz bath, and soaking your bottom for 10 to 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can add half of the pouch to a bath, fill it up to your navel area and soak in the tub with the consent of your care provider, of course.

The nights I have most looked forward to since giving birth to Oakley have been when I can grab a glass of vino and enjoy a soak in the tub with this Healing Soak. The aroma of the soak is soothing, making it easy for you to reap the benefit of not only soothing your aching body and muscles, but also your mind. New Mom’s deserve nothing more than some quality relaxation from time to time, right?!

The Baby Essentials Kit includes a ton of amazing goodies, a natural lip balm for mom, Simply Soothing Bottom Balm, a Massage Bar, Baby’s First Bath Soap Bar and Simply Sleepy Baby Butter.

The first product I tried out from this kit was the Simply Sleepy Baby Butter. That should be given, right?! I mean what Mom doesn’t want for nothing more than her little one to sleep soundly. And, coincidentally that is what Oakley does after each application of this Baby Butter.

The Sleep Baby Butter is infused with organic coconut oil, beeswax, organic olive oil, lavender essential oil, and organic lavender and chamomile tea. A soothing mixture that can be applied to baby at anytime of day. Typically, I apply it to Oakley’s delicate skin after a bath or right before bedtime. It always helps to settle him. Heck – I have even used this product on myself, and I love it!

Additionally, I will sometimes use the the baby massage bar, usually during the times when Oakley isn’t as easy to settle. It contains ingredients such as, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, cosmetic grade beeswax, lavender essential oil. The baby massage bar has helped to moisturize his skin, relax him before bed and also has helped to relieve his gas pains… which sadly he often suffers from.

Thankfully, one thing Oakley hasn’t had to struggle with too much is an irritated bottom. We have used the Soothing Bottom Balm on a few occasions to bring relief to any irritations or rashes. This product contains coconut oil, shea butter, bees wax, eucalyptus radiata, lavender and tea tree essential oils. Not only is it good for preventing diaper irritations, but it is also a great product for Mom’s to use on torn or scarred skin once stitches have been removed. It helps to prevent infection, but also brings relief to the healing skin.

The products I have most enjoyed from the Baby Essentials Kit is the Natural Lip Balm, and the Baby’s First Bath Bar.

One product you can always find in my diaper bag is lip balm! Knowing the balm I am using is made of simple and natural ingredients is everything and more. The lip balm is soothing, and is quick to heal irritated or cracked lips.

The Baby’s First Bath Bar is something I wish I had remembered to pack in my hospital bag. Instead, the first bath had to wait until we arrived home from the hospital and that was ok by me. It meant we got to use a soap that is delicate on the skin, and is infused with oils of Coconut, Olive, castor, shea butter and cocoa butter and mixed with distilled water and lye. The soap is so delicate. I have used it not only on Oakley’s skin, but also on my own. Bath time is something we quite look forward to at the moment, as the Love Simply Made products make the experience enjoyable and relaxing not only for baby, but also the parents.

I have no doubt that the Baby Essentials Kit will become one of my new go-to’s when shopping for baby shower gifts in the future!

Heck not only that, I think I may just have to pick up The Man Box for my husband for Father’s Day.
