“Wow – you have got your hands full! I don’t know how you manage.”
Words that I often hear from strangers when they learn that I have 4 children, one being a newborn.
Before the birth of Oakley I had no idea how I was going to handle life with four children. The idea was something I had a hard time wrapping my head around.
However, now that he is here, I have to say the transition from three to four children has been a walk in the park. Perhaps, it is because I don’t have expectations of how life with a newborn will pan out this time around. Or, maybe it’s my willingness to let go of routine and rather roll with the punches… I really don’t know. BUT – life with four children while blissfully chaotic has been fairly easy to manage.
The morning is my hardest part of the day. I struggle with finding time to get myself ready for the day while also trying to get my eldest two children ready for school, the 3 kids breakfast and the baby breastfed. Thankfully this only accounts for 2 hours of the day.
Usually after I return home from school drop-off, I will strap the baby in one my wraps or carriers, and begin disinfecting the house. Yes, I disinfect everything daily (after school drop-off and again when the kids go to bed). After disinfecting the house, I will prepare dinner before sitting down to feed the baby once again.
Let me tell you – weekdays go by so fast right now!
I really don’t think I would be able to do it all each day and get by if it weren’t for being able to wear the baby. Having that ability to wear Oakley provides me with a lot of freedom, and I thrive off of that!
One of my favourite ways to wear Oakley when he was just days new was in the Lalabu Soothe Shirt.
The Lalabu Soothe Shirt is great for infants between 7 and 15 lbs. It makes as a stylish top that features a cozy pouch for baby, and also has a built in nursing bra. It is really a shirt that is an all-in-one for new Mom’s.
I love the convenience it has provided me. I have used it to get the wee man and toddler to and from midwife appointments, eliminating the need to carry the car seat. I have worn it to soothe Oakley to sleep while I have had to cook dinner or respond to client emails. I have worn it to just have a few moments with free hands, allowing me to throw on some make up and style my hair.
The Soothe Shirt has come in so handy!
The Soothe Shirt came to fruition after founders Keri and Brian visited Africa. Lalabu was named in honor of the woman who taught founders Keri and Brian how to wrap babies on a trip to Africa. Following their trip, they created the Soothe Shirt – a stylish top for mom, cozy pouch for baby, and nursing bra all-in-one.
The Soothe Shirt is manufactured in the US, and 2% of all sales are donated to support Mom entrepreneurs in Africa.
Lalabu is a brand that is easy to love! They have created a stylish product that is a must have for ever new Mom. Who wouldn’t want to have a stylish soothe shirt?! It is just like a wrap, but the soothe shirt eliminates the complexity. Heaven knows, how much I have struggled over the years with trying to tie wraps. Haha.
