Now that we are almost half way through the dreary month’s of Winter, I think it is important to remind folks of great tips for how to stay healthy during cold and flu season. Especially given how mild the last few month’s have been, if February continues with a colder trend in temperatures, there is no doubt that a delayed cold and flu season can and will follow.

There is one product my house is always armed with during cold and flu season, and that is Boogie Wipes and Boogie Mist. Wash your hands. Almost 80% of infectious viruses are spread by touch. Not only, should children wash their hands, but make sure you are too! So often, we as parents can tend to forget to stay on top of hand washing, especially when taking care of our sick little ones.

Hydrate. During cold and flu season, it is important to stay on top of your water intake. Staying hydrated will help flush and toxins that are lingering around in our body’s. Aim to have at least 8 glasses of water a more. In the winter, I have been known to shoot more for 12.

Sleep well. Be sure to be getting a full night’s rest, especially during cold and flu season. Sleep is what helps are body’s fight off illness.

Proper nutritionSkip the junk food and sugary treats and reach for more nutritious foods, like fruit and vegetables. Eating a well-balanced diet well help keep you on track to being healthy.

Be prepared. The moment someones gets sick be prepared to take action fast. Arm yourself with disinfectants, hand sanitizers, hand soap, Boogie Wipes and Boogie Mist. This way when someone in your family gets sick you will be able to not only stay on top of protecting the home and family from the spread of the virus, but you will also be able to help take care of your sick family member.
