Something I struggle with daily is all-day sickness. It has been a never-ending battle this pregnancy. However, I have learned to find ways to manage and deal with it.
My all-day sickness is often aggravated by the smell and sight of meat. Meat and I have been anything, but friends for the past 7 months. This aversion has been one for me that has been hard to adjust to, but I have come to find ways to ensure I consume and adequate amount of protein each day for both myself and the baby.
However, with the sickness, I often also have trouble fitting in all the other nutrients my body needs.
This is why I often will start my day with a green smoothie and coconut oil coffee. Following my morning workout, I will have a morning snack, which is usually a whole wheat bagel with a slice of melted cheddar cheese broiled on each half or strawberry jam. Lunch will often be a salad or hard-boiled egg with some raw veggies. Following lunch, I will have a yogurt with some granola, seeds or nuts, and dried fruit (like raisins, apricots and craisins) for a snack and/or a green juice or my Rise and Shine Energizing Juice, if I need that extra pick me up.
My objective is to maintain a healthy diet that both the baby and I reap the benefits from while also juggling to balance my diet around my all day sickness. It literally can be a juggling act. No denying that. It is all about going with the flow, and following my cravings.

Rise and Shine Energizing Juice Recipe
- 1 yellow pepper
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- 3 carrots
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 cup red grapes
- Add ingredients to juicer. Start with the yellow pepper followed by the carrots, apple, celery, grapes and orange.
- Serve immediately or store in a mason jar for consumption later in the day.
