These past few weeks have been something else. I have found myself on and off of modified bed rest more than I can count. Sciatica issues being mostly to blame. I’ll save the full story for another post though.

During my down time, I have had a lot of time to browse and drool over some of my newest cookbooks.

December 17 Edits

I haven’t had much of an opportunity to take to the kitchen to enjoy any of the recipes out of these cookbooks, but I have started to make a list of all the recipes that I cannot wait to try once I am able to be on my feet and in the kitchen for more than 20 minutes at a time.

My favourite book of the whole bunch is Rachael Ray’s – Everyone is Italian on Sunday. This book is full of heartwarming and comforting dishes. You know, featuring the kind of meals that you would just be enticed to heap on to your plate. The kind of meals that leave you coming back for more even when you feel like you are about to bust. This book features some of Rachael’s family favourite dishes and ingredients that will leave you feeling like you are enjoying Italian on a Sunday night at Rachael’s table. If you crave Italian dishes, like me, you will just love this book!

The other book that I have quite enjoyed browsing through is Canadian Living – The Ultimate CookbookThis book features over 300+ recipes for everything ranging from breakfast to desserts while also offering a helpful sections devoted to providing resources like key substitutions and other materials that will certainly come in handy over the years. This is my go-to cookbook for planning out quick and easy weeknight dinner ideas.

Lastly, I have MamushkaThis cookbook features recipes from the Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The book features over 100 dynamic recipes that are dynamic. If you love putting authentic, cultural twists on the cuisine you serve in your home, I highly suggest checking this book out. You won’t be disappointed.
