If there is one thing my 4 year old son hates, it is sick days. I can’t say I blame him. No one enjoys being sick. Well… unless they are playing hooky and just taking a “sick” day for no pointless reason.

However, that is just not the case when you are 4 years old. You don’t just get hooky days. When a sick day arises, that is usually it, you are sick.

Last week, my son fell ill suddenly and found himself off of school for 2 whole days. This was torturous for him.

That boy absolutely loves going to school. He never skips a beat as he arrives at school each day. Nope. He doesn’t look back. He is in his zone. Off to play with his friends, learn and grow his independence. It is so great to see him spreading his wings and making his own way. BUT – man oh man, when those few sick days hit… The world as he knew it ended. He had no idea what to do with himself. He took some much needed time to rest, but he was also bored and eager to get back to learning.

Thankfully I had our Teach My – Preschooler kit on hand.

We dug it out and sat at the table working on his reading, math and writing.

The Teach My – Preschooler kit has become a lifesaver when situations like this one arise because it keeps him distracted and busy while also learning.

My 6 year old daughter also loves the Teach My – Preschooler kit as well. She gets quite upset that she doesn’t get sent home with enough homework. Homework – of all things!! I know, right?! I will rub this into her one day when she comes home from high school whining about the excess of assignments and homework.

So, after school my daughter likes to dig out the kit and sit down to work on her reading. She loves to read and re-read through levels 1 to 4. As well as, working on the math equations and exercises.

I love seeing the passion, determination and motivation that this product helps ignite in my children. It is teaching them and helping them grow, and they are able to witness that in their abilities as they practice the lessons through and through. Needless to say, I am quite proud. Proud of the children they are, who they strive to become and their ambitions. You can really learn a lot from your children by just taking the time to sit with them to teach them new lessons while also bonding.

I can’t wait to sit down with my 20 month old and introduce her to the Teach My – Toddler kit. She is just reaching the point now where she has the attention span to sit and concentrate on learning something new. She is quite the busy little girl, but her interest to learn more about the world is beginning to shine through!

If you are seeking out ideas for what to get your child(ren) or grandchild(ren) this holiday season, check out Teach My. It is one product that will grow with your child that I guarantee you will be well-worth the money spent.

About Teach My!

Christy Cook brought Teach My to life when her son was 18 months old, realizing quickly that parents are important teachers. Christy spent countless hours scouring stores for tools to teach the alphabet, teach counting and teach reading. When Christy couldn’t find a single kit that did it all, she began creating her own teaching tools that matched some of the tools that she had already purchased.

When Christy’s son was 3 he was able to read. Parents at nursery school would ask Christy how she had taught him, so she began structuring play groups to develop an all-in-one learning kit for toddlers based on the matching method of teaching. Using the knowledge that Christy gained from the focus groups, she evolved the teaching tools into a coordinated set and called it Teach My Toddler. After the success of My Teach Toddler, the Teach My brand continued to evolve.
