Have you ever had the dream of just randomly walking up to a friend or family member and throwing a plate of whip cream or pie in their face?
I can’t say I have either.
However, I can think of one member of my family who would love to make this dream become a reality…
My 6 year old daughter.
You see when my daughter turned 5 we had invited our family over for a family birthday celebration of the sorts. Not everyone could make it, but the few that could sure made the occasion one she would never forget.
You see my husband’s side of the family is notorious for pulling pranks on the gullible.
After Cadence had blown at the birthday candles, my Father-in-law asked Cadence if she had taken the opportunity to savour the scent of her birthday cake. Confused she asked my Father-in-law what he meant. “Smell your cake… Have you taken the opportunity to enjoy the smell of your cake?” he said. Cadence sure seemed confused, but like any trusting 5 year old, she sighed and took a whiff of her cake.
That’s when it happened.
Her face met the cake.
My Father-in-law had gently nudged her so her nose hit the cake. My daughter did not take this moment lightly at all, and I knew she wouldn’t. She is a very sensitive soul. Just like her Momma.
It took quite some time to calm her down, but she learned from the experience and will never smell another cake again.
However, as the saying goes there is nothing like sweet revenge, and my daughter can’t wait to seize the opportunity to get revenge with the new game Pie Face. While I can’t convince either of my children to play Hasbro’s new Pie Face game, they surely can’t wait for the golden opportunity to make Grandpa take the challenge (over and over again). Nothing would bring more joy to my eldest then to see Grandpa’s face covered in Gay Lea Real Whipped Cream.
