Can you believe that there is only a week and a half remaining of July? It feels like just yesterday that I was picking up my excited 5 year old from her last day of Senior Kindergarten.

This Summer, we have decided to skip the routine and rather have a go with the flow approach as each day passes. The kids are allowed to wake whenever. You think that would entice them to sleep in…. Yea… Sleeping in doesn’t happen much around here. Anything after 7AM would be considered sleeping in. Sad, but true.

That being said, having early risers means we can get on with our days much earlier, making the most of them and the time we have together.

So far our Summer adventures have found us at…

Canada’s Wonderland… We even bought a season’s pass, so we can enjoy visiting the park again and again.

The local trail… What could be better than a bike ride on a side day along the valley and trail? To make each visit even more fun, we also make a point to make pit stops along the way to check out mother nature. My children have such an appreciation for mother nature. I love it. The only thing they haven’t enjoyed is all the mosquitoes that seem to be relentless no matter how much bug spray you slather yourself in. My son jokes that he is lunch to them. For this I am thankful that products like Orange Naturals Bites and Stings Lotion exist.

Swimming lessons… It may be the Summer, but I still have the kids signed up for swimming lessons. For just one week of the Summer, they spend each day busy learning from a lifeguard.

These just happen to be some of my children’s favourite experiences of the Summer thus far. If you were to ask them next week, they’d probably say their favourite memory of the Summer was having Anna from Frozen visit out home for my daughter’s 6th birthday party. That visit will be happening this coming Saturday… Cadence just isn’t aware of that yet.

The Summer has been such a delight so far, and I cannot wait to see where our journey’s lead us from here.
