If there is one thing in the world that I love doing it is babywearing. My little one clings to me. She wants to be in my arms at all times. By wearing her I have the ability to get things done around the home while also keeping her content and close by.
My stash of baby carriers continues to grow. As it grows I have noticed that the majority of my baby carriers are made of thick fabric that isn’t breathable. That’s fine for the cooler months we have here in Ontario, but what about during the hot, humid summer? It’s not practical. Nor would it be comfortable.
So I set out on a quest to find a baby carrier that would be great for active wear. A carrier that was compact enough to stow away in a carry-on or suitcase for travel. A carrier that was made of cool, breathable fabrics. One that would not only suit the wearing of an infant, but also a toddler.
In my search, it quickly became evident that the Ergobaby Performance Baby Carrier would be my match made in heaven.
It was the perfect travel accessory while I was in Mexico last month. It made traveling with Everly less of a hassle. I was able to wear her through the airport until we boarded our flight. I wore her around the resort and on our many ecological tours of the Mayan Ruins. Best of all – we never overheated while being out and about, soaking up the hot, tropical sun.
The Ergobaby Performance features a soft mesh that is not only quick drying, but offered optimal ventilation. If it weren’t for this, I don’t think Everly or I would have been comfortable. I was amazed by it’s breathability.
During the afternoon when Everly would nap against me, I affixed the adjustable hood over her to protect her from the sun’s rays. The hood is made of a SPF 50+ fabric. Knowing Everly was truly protected from the harmful UV rays was comforting, especially being that she was the baby who flat out refused to wear a hat for a good majority of our vacation.
We had such a blast on our Mexican vacation, and I don’t think our travels would have been as enjoyable had we not had our trusty baby carrier in tow. That being said, I can’t wait to see where our babywearing adventures find us this Summer. I foresee many hikes within our future, and you can bet your bottom dollar that we will have the Ergobaby Performance along for the ride.
If you are an active parent and / or are in the market for a lightweight, affordable baby carrier I highly suggest checking out the Ergobaby Performance.
Now if you will excuse me I need to go work on my art of mastering the back carry!
