Something I have struggled a lot with lately is trying to get back in shape after having a baby. While it certainly isn’t a top priority of mine, I am still feeling kind of bummed out that I haven’t been allotting very much time to focus on myself. I have been too consumed with being tired and making a bunch of other excuses. Excuses that allow me to the free reign to justify skipping out on that workout day after day. When the fact of the matter is that I really could sneak in 10 minutes here or there to get the heart pumping.
I love working out, but I needed to find a program that was fun and would keep me motivated to help me get back in the groove. I am always up for trying new exercises, as I feel it is important to challenge your body. Switching up your workout routine is what helps you to achieve optimal results. For this reason I recently picked up a copy of Pure Barre Studio Series 1 and Studio Series 2.
Pure Barre is touted to be one of the safest and most effective workouts for new Moms to do to get back in shape. The workout programs offer low impact, non-jarring moves. Pure Barre Studio Series is a 45 minute workout program that focuses on strengthening the core and toning arms, thighs, abs and rear by using small, isometric movements. This workout is far from high impact, and does not involve any bouncing or jumping. Pure Barre Studio Series can be done in the comfort of your own home, and doesn’t require any equipment other than a chair (preferably a kitchen chair) that you can lean on for support. If you are short on time, you can easily pick and choose the sections of the workout that you would like to complete instead of doing the full 45 minute program. Just be sure you include a warm-up and cool-down.
What I love about Pure Barre is that anyone can do the exercises! That’s not to say that barre is easy because at the best of times it isn’t. It’s challenging, but a challenge that is easy to stick with. A challenge that motivates you to keep working at it. Pure Barre may be high intensity, but it is a low impact workout that doesn’t put unnecessary stress on your joints. It is a workout that people of all shapes and sizes can do. Not to mention it is fun!
