I have been exhausted recently. Mentally more so than physically. I’m sure you would have thought the latter being that I am 18 weeks pregnant, and have been dealing with a house of sickness over the past two weeks. Stomach flu, chest cold and a “man cold” anyone?! Oh, I know you are jealous!
Anyway I trucked on through. Kept pushing on with my head held high.
Why? Simple. I knew Blissdom Canada was nearing.
A chance for me to escape, enjoy some uninterrupted sleep for 3 nights straight, enjoy the comfort of networking with like-minded individuals, all the while also learning and being inspired.
I would be a liar if I said that BlissDom Canada wasn’t blissful. It was pure bliss and so much more. However this post isn’t solely based on my BlissDom experiences.
My idea for this post came from an A-HA moment I experienced while sitting in on Julie Nowell’s Creative Pitches and Sponsored Posts session. My idea for this post also evolved further during a creative breakout session where we were asked to pick out the oddest thing in our purse.
What is the strangest item that is currently floating around in your purse?
I had one of those awkward moments during the Creative Breakout Session. I didn’t have my purse on me, but rather a small tote that I was using to carry around some business cards, a note book, my cell phone, a pen and Softlips Watermelon Lip Moisturizer. It felt kind of bizarre to make my my team of 7 other people believe that the strangest thing I could find in my tote was an empty landyard, but it was the truth.
If my purse had been on me during that particular session, I’m sure I would have had some strange looks when I pulled out endless amounts of lollipops (bribery for the kids), and endless tubes of lipstick and lip moisturizers.
My Nana raised me with the understanding that you should always have a tube of lipstick, lip gloss or lip moisturizer in your purse for whatever occasion may arise while out and about. I’m thankful for this lesson and abide by it! Perhaps, I’m a little too dedicated to her rule of thumb.
As of current, I have 3 different tubes of lipstick and 5 lip moisturizers kicking around in my purse. I’m a self-professed lip gloss hoarder if you will!
I’ll tell you while at BlissDom Canada it came in so handy having all those lip products handy. The air in my hotel room was so dry. Not only did it leave me up hacking up a lung night after night, but I found my skin and lips dried out quickly.
My go-to for a quick fix during the conference was the Softlips Watermelon Lip Moisturizer.
This lip moisturizer was the perfect companion for my conference tote. It was compact. Smelled amazing. It only made sense to have watermelon lip gloss considering I’m carrying a watermelon (er… wee bundle).
I have always been a fan of Softlips, as I find that you don’t have to reapply the lip moisturizer as often as other leading brands. Not to say that I don’t switch out brands often… because I do. I love variety! This lip gloss is just my favourite at the moment.
I would love to make you a lip moisturizer hoarder like me, and offer you the chance to win an amazing Softlips Prize Pack!
All you have to do is tell me… What is the strangest item floating around in your purse?
