This is what’s in mine…
A green smoothie. The next best option for breakfast, and means to not starving myself. Good ol’ morning sickness seems to have finally found me. Funny considering I’m now well out of the first trimester. I’m almost 21 weeks.
I love green smoothies for very many reasons. They are an excellent source of beta-carotene, iron, and various other minerals and vitamins. It’s a good thing I crave an array of fruits and vegetables. Otherwise smoothies probably would be out of bounds right now.
This morning I made a Green Orange Dreamsicle Smoothie. It tasted very much like an Orange Julius, expect it was packed with many nutrients.
Green Orange Dreamsicle Smoothie
1 cup of Orange Juice
1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt or greek yogurt
1/2 cup of skim milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup of spinach
sweeten to taste (a squeeze of honey or agave nectar will suffice)
Add all the ingredients to your blend. Blend until smooth. Depending on how powerful your blender is you may find you need to stop, stir and continue blending until all ingredients are smooth.
