There was once a time that Friday night meant getting dolled up, pulling out my snazziest pair of dancing shoes, and heading out on the town with my gal pals. Heck – back in the day my Friday night didn’t start until 9 or 10PM.
Times have truly changed since then. I’m lucky if I can even manage to keep my eyes open until 10PM on a good night… let alone a Friday night.
My Friday nights now consist of praying that the kids good to bed by 8PM without pulling any antics, and unwinding with the hubs. In fact, my husband and I have turned Friday night into a weekly date night at home. These dates night usually involve wine (sparkling non-alcoholic wine in my case), a delicious home cooked dinner or take-out, good music, good conversation and sometimes if we’re feeling rebellious a late night flick. Like I mentioned above… that is if I can even keep my eyes open long enough to catch said flick!
For the past few weeks date night has had to be put on hold for some odd reason or another. My wonderful husband was away at a conference, and shortly after his return I headed out of town to find my inner-bliss. Tonight we are both in town and I have a marvelous date night in planned for us!
The evening will be filled with appetizers, great conversation and The Heat. You know the hilarious comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.
Oscar® Winner Sandra Bullock* and Oscar® Nominee Melissa McCarthy** are a “dynamite duo” (George Pennacchio, KABC-TV) in this outrageously funny comedy from the director of Bridesmaids, Paul Feig. Uptight FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) and foul-mouthed Boston cop Shannon Mullins (McCarthy) couldn’t be more incompatible. But when they join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected…buddies.
Suffice to say not only am I counting down the hours until the munchkins head to bed, but I’m also counting down the hours until I can snuggle up on the couch and watch this movie.
