Health & fitness are two things that are very important to me. My children have very quickly learned to lead by my example. Whether it be my children jumping in and mimicking me while I workout, a bike ride around the neighborhood or a game of tag… my children certainly are active. More recently my daughter has taken to her preschooler yoga DVD and dance. It makes me proud to see the kids making their mark, and putting themselves first. After all there only are one of each of us in life. We need to make each day count. Never hurts to start young.
With my daughter embarking on a new journey in September, we have been doing a lot of back-to-school shopping recently. New clothing is a huge must-have in her eyes. However, she doesn’t just want dresses and new cute cardigans. She wants yoga pants and tanks. Things she can wear to the dance academy, at gym class or just lounge around in at home.
Did you know Lululemon has a younger sister? Yep, she does… ivivva!
ivivva athlectica is geared towards girls between the ages of 4 and 14. I’ll be completely honest when I say that I hadn’t heard of lululemon’s sister store until recently when I was invited with my daughter to the media preview at Yorkdale Mall last month. Unfortunately my daughter and I couldn’t make the preview, but we did have the pleasure of experiencing the online shopping experience.
The first thing we found while browsing the website was that ivivva (like lululemon) is geared towards girls that are particularly active. The clothing would be perfect for dancers, runners, and gymnasts.
My daughter spent hours checking out all the cute outfits and patterns. She had a ball putting together an outfit of her own. She wound up selecting the dance all day shrug, tumblin tank II, and rhythmic short II as her outfit for review.
While the clothing at ivivva athletica may come with a high price tag, and it may not be something I would purchase on a regular basis. I can say that you do get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to the quality of the clothing. ivivva uses the same high-quality, technical fabrics that Lululemon does.
My daughter is quite petite for a 4-year old. One of my concerns prior to completion of the review was that some of the clothing may be too loose or baggy on her. The only article of clothing from the review package that she will need to grow into is the shrug. The tank and shorts while slightly loose, fit her like a charm and give her that extra bit of cushion to grow.
My daughter would wear her ivivva outfit daily if she could. That being said, it has seen the wash on more than a handful of occasions. The clothing has continued to hold together well, and the colours have all remained vibrant.
