Canada Day long weekend is just a few days today. Today may be Thursday, but for my family today is our Friday. We’re planning to enjoy a 4-day long weekend together. To prepare for the long weekend I spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon shopping at Loblaws for products essential for the cottage.

Before heading out to Loblaws, I registered my PC Plus Points Card.

Have you heard of this fabulous, brand spanking new program that Loblaws has introduced? The PC Plus Rewards Program is a program that adapts to you and your spending habits. It provides you with weekly offers based on your shopping habits. Not only that for every 1,000 points you earn equates to $1.00. Once you have accumulated 20,000 PC Points you can redeem your points for $20.00 in savings. How awesome is that?! With this rewards program it makes it easy for consumers to shop smart.
I hadn’t heard of the PC Plus Rewards Program up until a few weeks ago. Lo and behold – I  didn’t wind up registering my card until yesterday. Signing up for the program was easy. You can simply download the PC Plus app to your smartphone. Alternatively you can register your PC Plus Points Card or PC Financial card online. Registering the card took no time at all.

Before I knew it I was off to Loblaws to pick up long weekend essentials. S’mores, anyone?!

Usually I only visit Loblaws to pick up a few odds and ends. My first stop at Loblaws is always the cheese section. Cheese curds is a weekly must-have for my family. We love our poutine after all!

I made the mistake of grocery shopping while hungry. I wound up picking up a few odds and ends that I normally would have avoided. Ribs and pulled pork.

I had a very hard time locating the product that I had come to purchase, but I had no problem locating Jiffy Pop and marshmallows. Long weekend must-haves!

After spending 40 minutes walking up and down every aisle I decided to check out. No s’mores in hand. Sadly. Thankfully the cashier operating the express lane was extremely helpful. She was able to track down the s’mores kit for me.

Would you believe that they were in the lobby of the store. Some how I managed to walk straight past this large display when entering the store.

My grocery trip was successful! The customer service at Loblaws was phenomenal! I am now all set for the long weekend and cannot wait to indulge in all the goodies that I picked up.

Would you believe I scored 2,000 PC Plus Points on this particular grocery run?! The PC Plus Rewards Program makes it easy to shop smart.

Love my PC Plus card – great way to earn free groceries. The recipe and grocery list part of the app is so helpful too!
