Peacefully on Sunday morning, my Nannie grew her wings and flew to be with her daughter, my Nana. My Nannie was truly one of a kind. She was a fire cracker; so full of life, love and happiness. Her charismatic spirit was bright enough to light up any room. My Nannie inspired me. She was my role model.

I will forever cherish having the opportunity to grow a close bond and relationship with my Great Grandmother over the past 29 years. During my childhood and adolescence, I spent many summer’s up North at my Nannie’s. Our time was always spent doing crafts, exploring the great outdoors, baking, enjoying the sounds of thunderstorms from her sun room and just chatting. She was such a lovely woman.

On my wedding day in April 2007, my Nannie surprised me with an incredible gift that I will forever hold near and dear to my heart. She gave me a scrapbook that had all the little momentos, crafts and letters I had ever sent her. Not only that she included pictures from all our times together, as well as little notes that she had handwritten. My Nannie may have passed away this past weekend, but I will always have memories of her close to my heart.

I’ll never forget the joy it brought me to introduce her to her Great, Great Grandchildren in May of 2011. Truly amazing!

My Nannie is going to be so missed. RIP sweetheart. You will forever be in my heart.
