My birthday is in early February, and it has certainly been known for Mother Nature to throw me quite the snowlebrations on my birthday. This year was no different. For my birthday, she brought 40 centimeters of snow to the party. It was an intense storm! You have got to love when Texas lows and Alberta clippers combine.
We had originally made plans to head to Niagara on the day of my birthday for the weekend. Mother Nature put a hold on those plans. Thankfully Embassy Niagara was understanding and pushed our reservation back by a day. I wound up spending the day snuggled up in doors with my munchkins.
The storm eased up around the dinner hour, so the hubs drove a slow 30km/hr to a local restaurant to treat me to dinner.
It was really nice to get out! I’m so thankful to my Mother-in-law for her hospitality during the storm, and for watching the kids so we could get out for the evening.
The next morning, we packed up and made our way to Niagara. We had a gorgeous view of the Canadian Falls from our room.
The weekend getaway wouldn’t have been properly kicked off without a celebratory glass of red.
We came across a nice couple by the Falls who offered to take our picture with our two little snowmen. Awesome!
