The holidays are over. The New Year is here. Those resolutions have been made. What are some of the resolutions that you would like to resolve this year? A common New Year’s resolution that I often hear is people wanting to battle the bulge, shed some weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. I hear ya, I do. That was me last year at this time! Trust me when I say, it can be done. It takes the right amount of determination, motivation, effort and support.
Quite often people can’t afford a gym membership or just don’t know when they are going to find the time to squeeze a workout into their busy day-to-day schedule. Personally, I like to workout in the comfort of my own home. I tried going the gym route. My membership was literally a waste. I didn’t feel committed to the gym and I didn’t dig the environment. It’s not for everyone. I’m a stay-at-home Mom, so I took to working out 5 to 6 days a week during nap time. Occasionally nap time would be a bust and my workout would be thrown out the window. Always frustrating. I dug my me time. Working out is just that… my me time. It is the time where I put my best foot forward and focus on myself. After all there only is just one of me in life. My health and maintaining my physique is very important to me.
Shortly before Christmas, I had the opportunity to try out the 10-Minute Trainer workout program.
10-Minute Trainer is a workout program that is led by Tony Horton. The workout program packs fat-burning cardio, total-body tonight and sculpting and ab conditioning in just 10 minutes.
10-Minute Trainer comes equipped with four 10 minute workouts: total body, cardio, lower body and yoga. You will also receive a resistance band plus cardio belt, Tony Horton’s 10-Minute Meals, a customized workout calendar, abs routine DVD, on-the-go workout cards and a 10-day lean jean plan.
10-Minute Trainer is perfect because it gives you the chance to squeeze in a workout, even when you are short for time. It came in handy for me over the holidays. One of my favorite workouts was Yoga Flex. It was a great way to stretch out, unwind and relieve the holiday stress.
The only downfall I had with the 10-Minute Trainer program was that some of the exercises do require you to have access to a door hinge to hook up your cardio belt for increased resistance. I don’t have access to doors in the areas of my home where I exercise. I still completed the workouts that required use of the cardio belt, but they were more low impact than I would have liked.
Another benefit of 10-Minute Trainer is that you can workout several times a day. Pop in the DVDs whenever you have some spare time, break a sweat and burn some calories. Each workout has the option to add-on a cool down and warm-up, which I would highly suggest as it helps prevent injury. The warm-up and cool-down add on approximately 4 additional minutes to each workout.
What’s neat about 10-Minute Trainer is the unique Super Stacking Technique that it emphasizes on. Super Stacking combines the most effective fat-burning cardio, total-body toning and sculpting and ab conditioning moves into one workout. It’s kind of like a sandwich of workout. Tony Horton takes multiple workouts that other workout programs may take you 30 minutes to complete and stacks them into one 10 minute workout to ensure you reap the benefits and receive optimal results.
If getting in shape is on your lists of New Year’s resolutions for 2013, then I highly suggest checking out 10-Minute Trainer. It’s a great way to ease into exercising on a regular basis!

I love anything yoga! But I’d like to try Slim in 6!! I am usually very dedicated to a workout but unfortunately my dedication only lasts 2 weeks. I get bored easily! I wonder if this would be better with the 6 different discs.
