During my attendance at the She’s Connected Conference in October I was introduced to Jane Blaufus’ book – With the Stroke of a Pen Claim Your Life.
I really admired the outgoing and free spirit that Jane’s publicist, Rania, possessed. There was an opportunity for an impromptu breakout session on day 2 as we were all enjoying our lunch, and she snatched it. I enjoyed listening to Rania introduce us to Jane and her book. I had butterflies in my stomach as I listened to Rania discuss how she had read Jane’s book and took the opportunity to discuss with her husband their future plans. You know the plans that come after-life. The discussion that must people dread. Rania waited until she and her husband were in the car to approach the topic. An opportune moment… No distraction. Nothing else going on.
After-life is something I have been trying to discuss with my husband for a really long time. It’s really not a discussion that anyone wants to have. It’s a difficult conversation at that. Fact of the matter is that it is important to solidify the future plans to protect your loved ones and your own future.
I usually am not a blogger who will review books. I don’t usually find the time to sit down and read. It’s not my lifestyle. With the Stroke of a Pen Claim Your Life is one of those books that I couldn’t pass up. During the read, there were many tears, many chuckles and many “a-ha!” moments. While it saddened me to read about the loss of Jane’s first husband, her story and lessons were an eye opener. I think it’s beautiful that she took the time to write about her loss and experiences along the way. Her insights and wisdom are what will help people like me take charge of our lives.
With the Stroke of a Pen Claim Your Life is a book that I think everyone should pick up. It is a short read that has a powerful message and provides readers with a lot of perspective. We all need to take ownership of our lives, this book will help you work through the process of how to do just that. For more information check out The Blaufus Group website.
