Would you believe it if I told you that this year I had no idea what to put on my children’s Christmas wishlists. I was at such a loss. I was certain that my house was already flooded with every possible toy known to man. Trust me – if you browse through my house it looks like a tornado of children’s toys ravaged it. So when all the grandparents started hounding me and begging for a wishlist, I hemmed and hawed for weeks.
I was recently introduced to the Playskool Toy Finder
. It has come in so handy and has been a lifesaver. It helped me narrow down the search and locate the perfect gifts for my children.
I have to admit I found the toy finder a little overwhelming at first. However, I was using it the wrong way. With two children, both of the opposite sex… I really should have been searching for gift ideas for each child individually. Alas, I put my head in a tale spin and searched for toy ideas for both of them at the same time.
My advice… Keep the child you are shopping for in the back of your mind. Don’t search for gift ideas for a bunch of children at once. Start by searching under the category “Toy Best For”, break it down by the age of the child and then select your additional categories from there. Try not to check off too many requirements though or you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of suggestions you receive.
As a part of my review of the Playskool Toy Finder, I had the opportunity to find the perfect toy for one of my children. I had such a hard time deciding which child to reference for this review. In the end, I chose a toy appropriate for my son. He always has to suck it up and play with his older sisters pink, glittery, girly toys. This one was going to be for him.
My son loves cars, trains, anything automotive for that matter. He’s also a very busy little guy. When I started my search on Playskool Toy Finder, I searched for toys geared towards children aged 3 and vehicles. My query brought back 8 results. All Tonka Chuck & Friends. I wound up selecting Tonka Chuck & Friends Flip The Bounce Back Racer
. My son got his first remote controlled racer.
My son is just shy of 2 years old, so Flip The Bounce Back Racer is a toy that the little man will grow into. At the moment, he loves to play with Flip without the remote in hand. The speed of the racer zipping around the house is a little unnerving for him. He will feel a little more comfortable with and confident around the racer in time. For now he is just content scooting around on his knees pushing Flip from point A to B.
If you are in the midst of Christmas shopping and looking for the perfect toy to purchase your child or someone else’s, check out the Playskool Toy Finder for inspiration!
