Wow – I can’t believe we’re entering month 3 of the Munchkin® campaign. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a Munchkin® Canada brand ambassador and sharing my favorite products with you. This month my post will be no different, as I highlight some of my baby shower memories and my favorite gifts.
I had quite a large baby shower in June of 2009. All my friends and family traveled great lengths to come celebrate my upcoming bundle’s birth. I remember the day as if it was yesterday!! While we played many games, the majority of the party was spent mingling. My belly was touched and/or rubbed countless amounts of times. Generally, it bothered me when people would rub my baby bump… but on the day of my baby shower it didn’t phase me. Funny how the times change given the circumstances.
I walked away from my baby shower carrying with me many fond memories. I can’t wait for one of my girlfriend’s to get pregnant, so that I can shower them in the same gifts and love that I received.
One of my favorite baby shower gifts was the Diaper Pail. It never was something that I noted on my gift registry. I just didn’t understand the hype or it’s prime use until I actually owned one. If I could recommend one must have item on your gift registry, it’d be the Arm & Hammer™ Diaper Pail.
The Arm & Hammer™ Diaper Pail is easy to use. It has a self sealing lid that helps control odors and lock them in. Each time the lid of this diaper pail closes a natural baking soda is dispensed. I have never seen a diaper pail like this one!! In addition to the diaper pail, you get 3 diaper pail bag refills and the the diaper pail is already assembled upon purchasing. What new Mom wants to waste time fidgeting with a new baby product trying to assemble it? No Mom – that’s who! Munchkin® keeps Mom’s in mind!! That’s what stands out to me about this diaper pail. Not to forget… the Arm & Hammer™ Diaper Pail by Munchkin® was awarded the PTPA Seal of Approval. Tested by parents, loved by parents.
A common theme on my baby shower registry was bath essentials. I wanted bath time to be painless and fun, especially as my infant grew older. A major must have in my opinion is the Corner Bath Organizer.
The Corner Bath Organizer can be used to keep all bath toys organized and dry when your child isn’t busy splishing and sploshing in the tub. It’s mildew resistant and tucks away nicely in the corner of your bath tub.
One of my daughters favorite products that I received as a baby shower gift was the White Hot® Inflatable Safety Tub.
This cute bath tub is great for infants between the ages of 6 and 24 months. It’s an inflatable tub that lets you know when the water is too hot for baby. After all, bath time is all about you and baby enjoying your time together!! You can rest your pretty head knowing that your baby is safe using this adorable ducky tub! My daughter used to love sitting in this tub “quacking”, splashing and babbling! Those bath memories are some of my fondest.
Diaper cakes seem to be a growing way to present a new Mom with her shower gifts. A diaper cake is assembled using a bunch of rolled up diapers, stacked and assembled in a way to make it look like a multi-layered cake. The cake is decorated by ribbons and can be elaborate or as simple as the gift giver would like. I’ve seen diaper cakes with many simple, but important baby must-haves affixed to it. A common baby essential found on a diaper cake is a teething blanket or lovey. Both my children received a teething blanket as a newborn and to this day it continues to be their security blanket.
Munchkin® features a Sesame Street® Teething Blanket that is absolutely adorable. The teething blanket is perfect for your baby to snuggle for that extra security and comfort, as well as use for teething purposes. My children would both be lost without theirs! Their teething/security blankets go with them everywhere. If I was to buy this gift for a Momma-to-be, I’d give her 2 of them… Y’know just in case (god forbid) one day her child misplaced their lovey. I always joke that the world will end the day my children lose their security blankets! Yep, they are that attached to them and no other ones will do.
We’ve always been a family that enjoys our daily walks. In fact, we head out for walks multiple times a day. To the coffee shop. Yep. I’ll admit it. I walk quite often to grab myself that trusty ol’ cup of joe. Let’s face the facts… I’m a zombie Mom. There’s no denying that. Pushing a stroller while holding a hot cup of coffee is next to impossible, unless you like having hot coffee splashing all over your hands. I’ve experienced it, and it’s not something I dig… so I went out and picked myself up an Insulated Stroller Cup Holder.
It’s a self-leveling, insulated cup holder that easily attaches to pretty damn near any stroller. The Insulated Stroller Cup Holder is a baby shower gift that I wouldn’t hesitate to get any Mom that has a pup to walk, loves to shop or just loves to get outdoors regularly. I would be lost without this stroller attachment. It comes in handy. Not to mention being able to bring a coffee along with me on all of our journey’s helps keep me level headed and alert.
If you travel a lot by car a couple must haves are the:
- Car Bottle Warmer. A great way to warm your baby’s food on the go.
- Adjustable Back Seat Mirror. You can drive and be comforted being able to witness your baby’s ever move.
- White Hot® Safety Sun Block Shade. A shade that prevents the sun from entering your vehicle and shields your infants face. It also let’s you know when the car is too hot. Safety first is always key!
I really could go on forever telling you all about my baby shower favorites and must have’s, but I’ll save you from my novel. Pop on over to the Munchkin Canada Facebook Fan Page to keep in the loop of what’s up and coming!! A little birdie tells me they have some big news to share with their fans really soon.
So now that I’ve told about all my baby shower favorites, tell me yours… What are your go-to baby shower gifts?
