Throwing in the towel on a nightly meal can sometimes be so easy. I contemplated it a lot last week. My son is cutting another molar and seems to be at his clingiest during the dinner hour. It’s been hard trying to prep dinner and having my tot standing at my leg, tugging on me and crying. Quite the juggling act. I coped though. I knew if I gave in just once that it’d be a downward spiral from there. I’ve been down that road before with meal planning. I don’t want to revisit it.
I’ve finally figured out a balance. While cooking, I pass the wee boy miscellaneous utensils, mixing bowls and pans. He’ll contently bang and holler gleefully. I’ll get dinner made and on the table. It’s a win-win.
