A new week is here. The sun is shining. It looks like a mild day outdoors. Quite deceiving. It’s frigidly cold. All that matters is that the sun is shining down. That’s where my happiness lies.

This week on the meal plan we have:

  • Pasta & Sauteed Veggie Bake
  • Mexican Stuffed Pasta
  • Lazy Day Casserole
  • Baked Chicken & Spinach Pasta
  • Santa Fe Chicken & Rice
Meal planning is really beginning to pay off big time. It’s being reflective in our monthly Visa bills. Our weekly grocery bill has seen a 40% decrease in the amount spent. That’s huge! We also haven’t ate fast food or ordered take out in weeks. Okay… that’s a bluff. We ordered pizza last night. Prior to that we hadn’t order in, in over 2 weeks. We used to be the family that spoiled ourselves with takeout 2 to 3 times a week.
I’ve decided not to set in stone which days we will specifically eat each meal. I like to pick and chose on a whim. It all depends on how I’m feeling each day as to what may satisfy my taste buds. Whatever works.
Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Meal planning is key for me, when we don’t do it I eat all the wrong things…

Oh wow, I’m so impressed that you can make and stick to a menu plan – I’m completely not that organized! My MIL does this too – and seems to work well for them. Maybe I should try it….

I love menu planning. I don’t always stick to it 100% but it helps save me time and money for sure!

Sadly for me, my wife does all of the meal planning. It’s good news for the rest of the house though as Daddy’s meal plan consists of Pizza, Steak, Ribs, Chicken Fingers and Happy Meals 🙂

Wow! 40%?! That’s huge! I have started trying to plan and shop around what I have planned. I’m slowly getting into the habit. 🙂
