On this day in 2011, I spent the early afternoon with Petra King Photography. Petra and I met through social media when I owned and operated momstown Whitby-Ajax.

In November of 2010, I had set a Facebook status that I was dying to do a maternity shoot, but it just wasn’t in the budget. Petra through the kindness of her heart offered to help and see my dream¬†fulfilled.

To me having my pregnancy captured was a big deal. My baby sister passed away a few days after delivery in 1995. I’ll always have it in the back of my head that life is fragile, precious and can be very, very short. I wanted to have my time with Cameron in the womb captured. He may not have been in my arms yet, but we had such a strong bond. The love was empowering! Truth be told, I had many fears during this pregnancy…. I’m sure you all can understand given my family history.
Thank you Petra! You’ll never truly understand how near and dear I will hold this session to my heart.

Beautiful pictures! That’s really sweet that a photographer made your dreams of maternity pictures come true. I’m so sorry about the loss of your baby sister…
